Step into the spirit of Pitt as you explore iconic campus spots and new spaces. Be sure to come to campus on Friday, September 25, to explore, snap photos, take a tour and see the University from a new perspective. We recommend you preregister for tours and open houses, but walk-ins are always welcome, too.

Open House: The Transformed Hillman Library

Friday, September 25, 11 a.m to 1 p.m.

Experience the transformed Hillman Library—a vibrant hub of learning, research and creativity at the heart of Pitt's campus.

Step into the past with Archives & Special Collections or create with a working 1800s printing press. Then leap into the future with 3D printers, virtual reality, digital creation tools and more.

Also, check out “I am made to leave I am made to return,” a striking new artwork installation drawn from the Nationality Rooms Archive—created by artists Susy Bielak and Fred Schmalz in collaboration with Pitt Studio Arts Dept. Chair Aaron Henderson.

 

Homecoming Tour: Recreation & Wellness Center

Guided tours will be offered at 11 a.m., noon, and 1 p.m.

Discover how the Recreation and Wellness Center (RWC) goes beyond traditional fitness. Join a guided tour highlighting the RWC’s innovative spaces designed to support student well-being, foster social connection and provide opportunities to relax, recharge and have fun.

Featured stops include the Sky Track, Stress Free Zone, Esports Lab and Climbing Wall, showcasing the many ways students can stay active, build community and enhance their overall wellness. Come experience the spaces that make the RWC a unique destination on campus.

 

Victory Heights Arena Photo Opportunity 

Friday, September 25, 9 to 11 a.m.

Attendees can take a photo inside the new Victory Heights Arena. Victory Heights Arena and Sports Performance Center is a state-of-the-art 240,000-square-foot facility situated adjacent to the Petersen Events Center. It was completed in 2026 and replaces the Fitzgerald Field House. The facility comprises a competition arena and a Sports Performance Center. The arena seats up to 3,600 and serves as the competition home for Pitt's volleyball, wrestling and gymnastics programs.

*Please note that some areas may be restricted due to a volleyball game taking place during the tour.
